The rod (1) has an end i.e. rod top end (3), connected to a piston of an internal combustion engine, and another end i.e. rod bottom end (2), connected to a crankshaft, where the ends are connected together by a rod body (4). The rod body is provided with two branches (6b, 6c) made of a metal wire that extends from a ring in the former end to another ring in the latter end. The metal wire is made of steel. The former ring is provided with a tube section (5) made of steel or cast iron.
