PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a telephone apparatus which can transmit telephone directory data such as phone numbers, e-mail addresses and collateral information stored in the telephone apparatus to a predetermined address with e-mail. SOLUTION: When receiving a retrieval request from a cellular phone 2 to a transmission destination or an incoming call to an extension telephone 6 with an absence mode set therein, a main apparatus 1 retrieves desired telephone directory data such as an e-mail address or a phone number registered in a telephone directory data storage part 14, and reports the retrieval result to the transmission source by e-mail.
