<p>Polyamide (e.g. polycaprolactam) extrudates, are obtained by polymerisation of a molten mixture of the lactam with a polymerisation catalyst, esp. an alkaline catalyst, and an activator. The mixture of both melts is charged to a reactor and passed through while monomer is introduced through the porous walls of the reactor, in a minor amount sufficient to act as lubricant. The process prevents polymer formed from adhering to the reactor walls.</p> |
