<p>A communication apparatus is provided which can perform the updating of the contents of the cache, which is to be performed if the correspondence between another communication apparatus with which the communication apparatus is to communicate and the address on a network has changed, at a timing suitable for the communication, while suppressing the load of the network. A communication apparatus related to an embodiment of the present invention performs a connection determination as a clue as to the updating of correspondence information stored in the cache, and updates the correspondence information if the correspondence between the identifier and address of another communication apparatus with which the communication apparatus is to communicate no longer retains the correspondence indicated in the correspondence information. The connection determination is controlled such that the connection determination is executed in response to the transmission of packets and stopped if no transmission has been performed for a given time. Thus, if the correspondence between another communication apparatus with which the communication apparatus is to communicate and the address on a network has changed, the communication apparatus can update the contents of the cache at a timing suitable for the communication, while suppressing the load of the network.</p> |
