PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical connector apparatus having a sleeve that is capable of properly holding a ferrule without damaging it and that is low in cost. SOLUTION: A sleeve 520 is formed so as to have a cylindrical or nearly cylindrical body part 522 by machining a metallic sheet having two edges and by facing the edges on each other. The body part 522 is provided with three ferrule contact parts 525-527 that are formed apart from each other in a right-angled plane orthogonal to the axial direction of the sleeve 520, and is provided with an edge facing part (connecting part) 524 where the edges are opposed to each other. When the sleeve 520 holds the ferrule, the ferrule contact parts 525-527 abuts on the ferrule. In such event, the spring constant of the sleeve 520 is low because of the presence of the edge opposing part 524, so that the ferrule is free from damage. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
