PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a water-stop material with a simple structure which can be easily loaded on a transverse joint without interfering a screw or the like at the bottom of the joint, and can block the joint evenly regardless of variations in joint widths. SOLUTION: The water-stop material is composed of a sidewall-shaped first lip 22 and a sidewall-shaped second lip 23 as well as a bridge 24 which connects both the lips 22 and 23 in a tapered V-shape in cross section and bends downwards at the center, and is entirely in a tapered shape. While a thick first claw piece 28 projecting obliquely upward towards inside and short in the joint width direction is formed on the end of the first lip 22 projecting from the bridge 24, a thin second claw piece 29 projecting obliquely upward towards inside and long in the joint width direction is formed on the end of the second lip 23 projecting from the bridge 24 in a way to face the first claw piece 28.
