THERMAL PRINTER AND PRINTING METHOD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermal printer which prevents projection marks of a feed roller from being noticeable on an overcoated printing surface, and to provide a printing method. SOLUTION: The thermal printer includes a first feed roller 15a which has projections on a surface of a part in contact with the printing surface of a paper P and conveys the paper by contacting either of a surface Pa and a surface Pb, a second feed roller whose surface of at least a part in contact with the printing surface of the paper P is smooth and which conveys the paper by contacting either of the surface Pa and the surface Pb, and a motor driving control part which controls so that the first feed roller conveys the paper at the time when an ink is thermally transferred to the printing surface by either of the first thermal head 11 and the second thermal head 13 and which controls so that the second feed roller 15b conveys the paper at the time when an overcoat layer is thermally transferred to the printing surface by either of the first thermal head and the second thermal head after the process of thermally transferring the ink to the printing surface.
