The invention relates to an ecological and sustainable development internal combustion engine for reducing pollution and for improving the efficiency of current engines, by using: the transfer of gases with one or two combustions between two or three cylinders having an increasing diameter, referred to as "multi-cylinder expansion"; the anti-vibratory transmission of the engine torque to the crankshaft via an equalizer beam; the conversion of a large portion of the heat generated by the operation of the engine into mechanical energy; the control of the valves by rams simultaneously using two sources of energy generated by the operation of the engine; supercharging pumps for the engine cylinders instead of the supercharger that cannot be used due to the transfers; direct fuel injectors provided with a retractable injection needle for cooling same; and a ram which is fireproof due to the high temperature. The proposed engines are suitable for replacing all the current single-cylinder expansion engines in any field of use.
