<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet conveying device capable of preventing erroneous detection caused by the deflection of a sheet when detecting the sheet, and an image forming device having the same. <P>SOLUTION: Sheet detection devices 41a, 41b having first and second actuators 43a, 43b are provided at a second conveying unit 21b of a sheet conveying device 21, and a guide member 51 is provided at a position opposite to the first actuator 43a in the first conveying unit 21a.
