LOSSLESS AUDIO CODING/DECODING METHOD AND DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lossless audio coding method and device, which can further provide an optimal compression ratio regardless of the assumption that integer MDCT coefficients show a Laplace distribution. SOLUTION: The lossless audio decoding method includes: a step of acquiring a Golomb parameter from a bit stream of audio data; a step of selecting a bit plane symbol decoded from an uppermost bit plane to a lowermost bit plane for every existing frequency band in the order from lower frequencies to higher frequencies; a step of calculating a context using the importance of already decoded bit plate symbol and selecting a probability model of the currently decoded bit plane symbol using the calculated context; and a step of arithmetically decoding using the selected probability model. The step of selecting the symbol, the step of selecting the probability model and the step of arithmetically decoding are repeatedly performed until decoding of every bit plate symbol.
