PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for an indication of a security trust level associated with a security method used with an electronic message. SOLUTION: A method and a system are provided for secure messaging on mobile computing devices. The method and the system provide for an indication of a security trust level associated with a security method used with an electronic message. The method indicates on an electronic device a security trust level associated with an electronic message, and the method includes: a step of accessing security-related data associated with the electronic message; a step of accessing security-related trust categories stored on the electronic device; and a step of determining, on the basis of the accessed security-related data, which of the security-related trust categories corresponds to the electronic message.
