PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide radio communication equipment and a communication control method thereof, achieving stable communication quality and the optimum communication speed between radio communication equipment having a plurality of antennas. SOLUTION: The radio communication equipment for performing radio communication with the radio communication equipment of the other party has: a plurality of radio circuits (102A and 102B) connected to a plurality of antennas (101A and 101B), respectively; and control means (105 and 106) for selecting a multi-antenna mode in which the plurality of antennas and radio circuits are used when a received signal strength indicator (RSSI) in radio communication with the radio communication equipment of the other party is larger than a predetermined value, or a single antenna mode in which one antenna and radio circuit are used when the received signal strength indicator is not larger than the predetermined value.
