PURPOSE: A drum for a washing machine and a manufacturing method thereof are provided to utilize existing devices for increasing capacity of washing machine by installing shaft tube units in front and back side of a drum. CONSTITUTION: A drum for a washing machine manufacturing method is as follows. A drum center(22) is formed by surface-welding a joint parts on both end of a metal sheet after rolling the metal sheet in a cylinder shape. The diameters of the front and rear part of drum is differently formed. A drum front(24) and drum back(26) are combined in the front and rear part of the drum center, respectively.
