摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop: a method of manufacturing pillared particles of silicon or a silicon-comprising material and an electrode which contains the particles as an active material; an electrochemical cell; an anode of a lithium storage battery; a battery; a device actuated by the battery; a method of making a composite electrode; a method of manufacturing a lithium storage battery; and a method of manufacturing a silicon-comprising fiber. <P>SOLUTION: The pillared particles are manufactured by the following five steps: grinding and sieving; cleaning; nucleation; etching; and silver removing. These particles may be used to create both a composite anode structure with a polymer binder, a conductive additive and a metal foil current collector, and an electrode structure.
