<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system and method for exciting an electric machine in an instantaneous non-sinusoidal current waveform. <P>SOLUTION: The system includes an inverter 24 to control a current flow in the electric machine 26 and a terminal voltage, and a controller 28 programmed to input a requirement for an initial sinusoidal current to an inverter 24, and thereby to output an initial sinusoidal input current to the inverter 24. The controller 28 is further programmed to determine an instantaneous fundamental component and an instantaneous harmonic component at an air-gap magnetic field on receipt of a feedback at the air-gap magnetic field in the electric machine 26 generated by the requirement for the initial sinusoidal current, to correct the instantaneous fundamental component at the air-gap magnetic field for generating an optimal fundamental component, to generate the requirement for the non-sinusoidal current on the basis of the optimal fundamental component, and to output the non-sinusoidal current to the inverter 24 by input of the requirement for the non-sinusoidal current to the inverter 24. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
