PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery which has excellent adhesive strength in both of parts when a resin molded part is formed on a cover and does not cause welding failure and liquid leakage failure, and can be manufactured at a low cost; and to provide a battery pack equipped with the above batteries and a method of manufacturing the battery. SOLUTION: On the cover 8 of a battery 2 of a battery pack 1, there is provided a recessed part 81 of a square groove shape having a certain depth so as to surround around the periphery at a bit inner side from the periphery. After the cover 8 is engaged with an opening of a case 7 in a state that the cover 8 is connected with an electrode group, the cover 8 and the case 7 are welded by laser beam irradiation to form a welded part 82. The welded part 82 is formed from the connected part between the cover 8 and the case 7 over the peripheral part of recessed part 81 and includes a protruded part 82a protruding to the opening of the recessed part 81 almost in parallel with a bottom face of the recessed part 81.
