<p>The present invention relates to a method for resource allocation in a hierarchical structure of a plurality of transmitters. The structure comprises least one main transmitter located at a first level and being connected to at least one slave transmitter located at a second level. The structure distributes a received packet data stream in parallel over a plurality of links to at least one receiver. The method is particularly characterized in that at least one transmitter in the structure performs the following steps: 1. Detecting (23) the quality of the packet data stream which is then stored as buffered data in at least one buffer in the transmitter. The quality is detected using a quality detection functionality in the transmitter. 2. Requesting (24) buffered data from a scheduler in the transmitter using a distribution functionality in the transmitter. The buffered data is requested when the distribution functionality has ensured that at least one of the links is free for data distribution. 3. Collecting (25) buffered data from at least one buffer and forwarding the data to the distribution functionality using the scheduler. The buffered data is collected with respect to the priority associated to each buffer. 4. Collecting (26) the data forwarded and distributing it towards at least one link using the distribution functionality.</p> |
