PURPOSE: An MRI apparatus is provided to supply an accurate result by compensating the change of a magnet filed inside a subject in consideration of the breading condition of the subject. CONSTITUTION: In an MRI apparatus, a main magnet generates a main magnetic field. A signal collection unit collects a magnetic resonance signal of a subject inside a main magnetic field. A measurement unit detects the breathing condition of the subject. A controller generates an AC current according to the breathing condition of the subject. At least one local coil generates a compensation magnetic filed by the AC current.
