<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a universal grater capable of surely grating a variety of ingredients such as vegetables and fruits including ingredients of strong stickiness such as yam and Japanese yam and producing surely smooth grated ingredients. <P>SOLUTION: A recess 17 is formed in the surface of a grating plate 15, and a grating edge 21 is inserted in the recess 17.
