<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a processor for an optical scanning endoscope which emits therapeutic laser beams by specifying a treatment region and performs a treatment while correcting a positional deviation. <P>SOLUTION: The processor for an optical scanning endoscope includes a scan control unit for controlling to scan a single mode fiber of an optical scanning endoscope, a light source unit for emitting observation laser beams and laser beams for forming a marker through the fiber, a light source unit for emitting the therapeutic laser beams through the fiber, a light receiving unit for receiving the observation laser beams reflected from a subject through a light receiving fiber provided on the optical scanning endoscope, an image generating unit for generating a captured image based on the received observation laser beams, an image synthesizing unit for generating a synthetic image generated by synthesizing the captured image and a captured image transmitted from an electronic endoscope based on the position of the marker and a scanning position, and means for setting the treatment region in the synthetic image.
