PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery system capable of increase in the capacity, restraining complication of the structure and rise in cost, and to provide an electric vehicle equipped with the system. SOLUTION: The battery system 500 mainly includes several pairs of battery modules 100, a plurality of detecting circuits 20, a battery ECU 101 and a contactor 102. The battery system 500 is connected to a main control section 300 of the electric vehicle via a bus 104. The several pairs of battery modules 100 of the battery system are connected to each other via a power source line 501.
