PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a navigation system, a navigation apparatus, a navigation server, and a navigation method for implementing only a correction of a vehicle position by route matching on a local side, implementing a route search on a server side, correctly identifying the vehicle position by map matching when the local side determines that a vehicle is out of a route, reducing a communication load between the local side and the server side, suppressing a calculation quantity on the local side at a minimum, and guiding the route. SOLUTION: A navigation server searches a guide route, generates corrected position information by correcting current position information of a user of a navigation apparatus by a map matching, and transmits it to the navigation apparatus. The navigation apparatus determines whether a current position is out of the guide route and transmits the current position information to the navigation server if it determines that the current position is out of the guide route.
