<p>A height adjustment mechanism adjusts the height between first and second walls (904, 1004) of a building panel. The walls (904, 1004) are typically formed from poured concrete. The mechanism includes a tubular base (102) with an interior threaded surface (108) and extending arms (112) for embedding the base (102) within the first wall (904) when cured. A cap (104) is removable from the base (102) upon curing of the first wall (904) material to expose the base (102). A cylindrical torpedo screw (106) is translatable vertically upon rotation of the torpedo screw (106) about its longitudinal axis within the base (102). The torpedo screw (106) distal end (114) is immersible within the second wall (1004) material before curing. In operation, removal of the cap (104) from the base (102) exposes the torpedo screw (106) proximal end (116) such that rotation of the torpedo screw (106) at its proximal end (116) adjusts vertical orientation of the first wall (904) with respect to the second wall (1004).</p> |
