PURPOSE: A shift register unit and a gate drive device for a liquid crystal display are provided to reduce power consumption by connecting the drain of a seventh thin film transistor and the gate and drain of a ninth thin film transistor to the input terminal of a second clock signal. CONSTITUTION: In a shift register unit and a gate drive device for a liquid crystal display, a first thin film transistor(T1) has a drain and a gate which are connected to a signal input terminal. A second thin film transistor has a drain which is connected to the source of the first thin film transistor. A third thin film has a drain which is connected to a first clock signal input terminal. A fourth thin film transistor has a drain which is connected to the source of the third thin film transistor.
