<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for converting media quality which can rapidly perform a reading process of a layer with a small computational complexity, and the like. <P>SOLUTION: The device 10 for converting media quality includes: a media boundary detection part 21 for detecting a media boundary being the beginning of a media data group from a bit stream; a discarding object database 31 for storing which hierarchy media data to be discarded, out of a media data group, belong to; a discard determination 24 for determining, with respect to each hierarchy which individual media data groups included in the bit stream belong to, whether media data belonging to the hierarchy should be discarded only when the media boundary is detected, and storing the determination result thereof in the discarding object database; and a data discarding part 25 for discarding the media data belonging to the hierarchy to be discarded based on the content stored in the discarding object database and outputting the other media data. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT |
