<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image display apparatus capable of searching desired image data easily and quickly. <P>SOLUTION: An image display apparatus generates and displays a display image 200 in which a corresponding image 201 of image data is displayed for every section when a user searches a desired image data. At that time, the section on which the corresponding image is displayed is decided based on the imaging information of the image data, and whether or not the corresponding image is displayed in each section is decided based on a category to which the image data belongs.
