PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheave groove measuring device of an elevator capable of easily, efficiently and precisely measuring a shape change in a sheave groove, without using a gauge. SOLUTION: This measuring device measures the sheave groove 8 of a peripheral surface of a sheave 7 of a hoisting machine 1 wound with a main rope 9 of the elevator. A plurality of detection sensors 27 as a groove shape detecting means for detecting a shape of the sheave groove 8, are oppositely arranged to the sheave groove 8. A data signal detected by the detection sensors 27 is processed by being sent to a signal processing part, and data on the sheave groove 8 based on the data signal is displayed on a display of the signal processing part. A groove shape of the whole periphery of the sheave groove 8 is successively detected by the detection sensors 27 by rotating the sheave 7 of the hoisting machine 1, and the data is displayed on the display.
