PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a power loss in a voltage generator which outputs a desired voltage based on power supplied from a constant voltage power supply regardless of an output voltage value. SOLUTION: The voltage generator includes a voltage amplifier which outputs an output voltage obtained by amplifying an input voltage on the basis of a power supply voltage, a DC-DC converter which converts the voltage supplied from a constant voltage power supply into the power supply voltage of the voltage amplifier and outputs the voltage, an output voltage setting unit which accepts the setting of an output voltage value of the voltage amplifier and sets an input voltage value based on the accepted output voltage value, and a power supply voltage setting unit which varies an output voltage of the DC-DC converter according to the output voltage of the voltage amplifier.
