<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a conveying device and a recording device capable of suppressing the lifting of a sheet-like medium while suppressing the load on the sheet-like medium. <P>SOLUTION: A printer has a recording head 19 for executing the recording by adhering ink to a continuous paper S sucked by a holding surface 14a, and a conveying device. The conveying device convey the continuous paper along the conveying direction Y while sucking a lower surface side of the continuous paper S to the holding surface 14a, and has a side member 28 having an opposing surface opposite to a part closer to an end in the width direction X orthogonal to the conveying direction Y of the holding surface 14a.
