PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a communication system in which a server performing communication with a device to be controlled can confirm the correctness of the device to be controlled itself even when the device to be controlled has not information processing ability required for communication utilizing an electronic certificate.

SOLUTION: In the communication system, a first node 101 obtains information for specifying a second node 102, and requires issuance of an electronic certificate of the second node 102 to a certificate issuance station 104 based on the information. The certificate issuance station 104 prepares the electronic certificate of the second node 102 in response to the request and transmits the electronic certificate to the first node 101. The first node 101 mediates communication between the second node 102 and a third node 103. In mediating the communication, the first node 101 communicates with the third node 103 utilizing the electronic certificate of the second node 102.
