PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image reproducing apparatus capable of improving the performance for narrowing down an image to be reproduced. SOLUTION: A CPU 40 plays back each of a plurality of images recorded on a recording medium 32 on a screen of an LCD monitor 28 and receives a position designating operation for designating a position on the screen. Furthermore, the CPU 40 searches an image, in which a facial image of a person appears at one or more positions designated by the position designating operation, from the plurality of images recorded on the recording medium 32, thereby classifying discovered one or more images from the other images recorded on the recording medium 32.
