PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tail-piece truck by which a continuous belt conveyor can be efficiently extended by a small number of workers; and to provide a method of extending the continuous belt conveyor. SOLUTION: The tail-piece truck 1 is provided with a base 5 for placing a tail piece 4, and a carrying device 11 to take extending frame members 10 to a predetermined position. The extending frame members 10 include frames 15, carrier rollers 16 and return rollers 17, which are assembled outside a tunnel 2 in advance. The carrying device 11 is provided with an elevating platform 20 to vertically move the extending frame members 10, and a travelling part 21 for travelling on the base 5. The carrying device 11, having the extending frame members 10 thereon, is moved on the base 5 to arrange the extending frame members 10 in a space S between a return-side belt 9a and a feeding-side belt 9b.
