PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a gate type AT shift lever device with an S mode which has a simple structure, has a fewer components, and can reduce manufacturing costs. SOLUTION: A small ball 7 is formed at the tip end of a control lever 8 extended from the oscillation center of a shift lever 1 in a shift direction. The small ball 7 is engaged with a spherical concave 9a of a bush 9 fixed to a cable end 10 of a shift cable 5. The small ball 7 includes: a circular disk 7a fixed to the control lever 8; and two sphere cut pieces 7a, 7b which are arranged at both the sides, and can slide along a long groove 7d formed in the circular disk 7a. In the bush 9, a slit 9b is formed in the same direction as the circular disk 7a when the shift lever 1 is in the S mode. During operation of shift directions in the S mode, the circular disk 7a can slide inside the slit 9b without moving the cable end 10. COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
