PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a moving image playback device, a moving image playback method, and a program which can retrieve a moving image file based on a speech content of a speaker in the moving image, or retrieve a scene in the moving image file from among a large amount of the moving image files. SOLUTION: The moving image playback device 1 is provided with a voice recognition means 2 which performs voice recognition of the moving image file; a text file creation means 3 which creates a text file from output of the voice recognition means 2; a keyword detection means 5 which detects a keyword pre-stored in a memory means 4 from the text file; a moving image order decision means 6 which decides a priority order of the playback moving image referring keyword weight attached to the keyword; a moving image playback means 7, which carries out playback of the moving image selected by user's selection referring the moving image order; and a weight updating means 8 which updates a keyword weight, based on the moving image selected by the user and a mode occurred by the keyword.
