PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a medium carrying mechanism capable of accurately carrying media by positioning a rotary shaft of a pinch roller in parallel to a rotary shaft of a feed roller. SOLUTION: This medium carrying mechanism includes the feed roller 31 rotatably supported by being formed in a cylindrical shape and placing and supporting the media, and a pinch roller assembly 50 constituted of the cylindrical pinch roller 72 and a roller support member for rotatably supporting the pinch roller 72 with its cylinder axis as the center and rockably installing the roller support member in an upper body part. The medium carrying mechanism is constituted so as to longitudinally carry the media by rotatingly driving the feed roller 31 by sandwiching the media. The roller support member has a rocking plate 61 rockably installed in the upper body part, a roller holder 70 for rotatably supporting the pinch roller 72, an installation long hole 73, an installation hole and a fixing bolt for installing the roller holder 70 to the rocking plate 61 so that the direction of the cylinder axis of the pinch roller 72 can be adjusted.
