PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a screening method of a chronic inflammation inhibitor or a cancer metastasis inhibitor aiming at a new receptor of S100A9.

SOLUTION: In this screening method of the chronic inflammation inhibitor or the cancer metastasis inhibitor, when a candidate substance for the chronic inflammation inhibitor or the cancer metastasis inhibitor inhibits significantly coupling between emmprin and S100A9 or S100A8/A9, the candidate substance is evaluated to be able to suppress significantly chronic inflammation or cancer metastasis.
