PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To form a different degree of gloss on the surface of each recording medium even when each recording medium is neither heated at a different temperature nor contacted by a member having different smoothness. SOLUTION: A transparent liquid 38A is added to liquid receptive particles 16 to increase the amount of liquid received by the liquid receptive particles 16 to thereby improve the gloss of the recording medium P. Then, even if each recording medium P is neither heated at the different temperature nor contacted by the member of different smoothness, the different degree of gloss can be formed on the surface of each recording medium P by changing the supply amount of the transparent liquid 38A to each recording medium P.
