PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a switching circuit capable of reducing harmonic frequency components existing in a wide band, while suppressing switching loss, and to provide a method of controlling the switching circuit. SOLUTION: The switching circuit 1 includes a model voltage waveform generating section 3 for dividing an aimed noise reduction band into two bands to each generate optimum waveforms for reducing the harmonic frequency components of both the bands, and for changing the two generated optimum waveforms for each pulse that drives a power transistor M1.
