The method for the production of a laser sintered body with the characteristics of a material to be adsorbed, absorbed or emitted, comprises providing a first quantity of a starting mixture that is formed as a homogenous mixture of a powdery starting material and a powdery active material that has the characteristics of a material to be adsorbed, absorbed or emitted, where the active material has a first predetermined distribution density, and applying a first layer that is formed by the starting material mixture, on a platform so that a powder bed is formed for a selective laser sintering. The method for the production of a laser sintered body with the characteristics of a material to be adsorbed, absorbed or emitted, comprises providing a first quantity of a starting mixture that is formed as a homogenous mixture of a powdery starting material and a powdery active material that has the characteristics of a material to be adsorbed, absorbed or emitted, where the active material has a first predetermined distribution density, applying a first layer that is formed by the starting material mixture, on a platform so that a powder bed is formed for a selective laser sintering, and laser sintering the first starting mixture layer so that a first layer of the body is produced with its pre-determined geometry and the first pre-determined distribution density of the active material. A second layer is formed by the starting material mixture and is produced with its pre-determined geometry and the second pre-determined distribution density of the active material. The first pre-determined distribution density of the active material is differ from the second pre-determined distribution density of the active material. The characteristics of the laser used during laser sintering are adjusted during selective laser sintering, where each layer of the body has a pre-determined porosity. The pre-determined porosity of two layers of the laser-sintered body is different. The powdery starting material is metal, glass and/or plastic and the powdery active material is silica gel, molecular sieve and/or active carbon.
