摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an open electrosurgical forceps which has reliability in spite of a simple structure, and can be inexpensively manufactured. <P>SOLUTION: The open electrosurgical forceps (10) includes a pair of shaft members (12, 20) each having a jaw member (62, 64) which a movable to separate or grasp a tissue. Each of the jaw members includes an electrically conductive scaling plate (68, 68) for communicating electrosurgical energy through the tissue held between the jaw members. The forceps further includes an actuator (40) which selectively advances a cutting instrument from a first position proximal to the tissue to a subsequent position distal to the tissue through a cutting slot provided in at least one of the jaw members. The actuator includes a trigger assembly which cooperates with a pulley and a cable system so that the cutting instrument advances from the first position to the second position through the tissue held between the jaw members. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT
