<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a photosensitive red composition scarcely having variation in viscosity and having high transmittance, by minutely and stably dispersing C.I. pigment orange 38, and the color filter using the same. <P>SOLUTION: The photosensitive red composition for the color filter at least includes: a pigment (A); a pigment derivative (B); a dispersant (C); a binder resin (D); a photo-polymerizable monomer (E); a photo-polymerization initiator (F); and a solvent (G), wherein the pigment (A) includes C.I. pigment orange 38 and C.I. pigment red 254, and a mass ratio of ((C.I. pigment orange 38)/(C.I. pigment red 254)) in the pigment is (51/49)-(80/20), the pigment derivative (B) includes a compound derived from C.I. pigment orange 38 and having a sulfonic acid group, the dispersant (C) has an amine value of 1-200 mg/KOH, and further the binder resin (D) includes a resin having at least a hydroxyl group and an ethylenically unsaturated double bond group as side chains.
