1,266,737. Fluid-pressure servomotor systems. CROSBY VALVE & ENG CO. Ltd. Dec. 17, 1969 [Dec.26, 1968], No. 61578/69. Heading G3P. A fluid relief valve has a seat 20 connecting an inlet 22 and an outlet 24 and a sleeve 26 aligned with the seat, the sleeve being of greater inner diameter than the seat, a valve member 34 slidable in the sleeve and forming a control chamber 44, the valve member having a passage 42 connecting the inlet and the control chamber, and a fluid-pressure actuated pilot valve so having a connection 52, 58 with the passage. When the pilot valve is lifted by a rise in pressure at the inlet, fluid escapes through an outlet 56 at a rate sufficiently restricted to raise the pressure in a passage 90 communicating with a spring-loaded bellows 74 which opens a valve 76 and connects the control chamber 44 with a vent 86. An annular clearance 64 allows liquid to drain from chamber 44. The closure face 38 of the valve is pivotally mounted for self-alignment with the seat.
|
