PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To surely remove looseness of a medium. SOLUTION: A printer includes: a motor providing driving force for rotating a roll body around which a medium is wound; a pair of conveying rollers provided downstream in the medium conveyance direction from the roller body; and a control part driving the motor by PWM control to rotate the roll body in the direction reverse to the rotation direction of the roll body when conveying the medium in the conveyance direction, and removing the looseness of the medium occurring between the roll body and conveying rollers, on the basis of the duty value of the PWM control and the limit duty value for at least integration output in the PID control to the motor. The control part adds and subtracts a given duty value to/from the duty value in the PWM control in the acceleration time and deceleration time when driving the motor, and adds and subtracts the given duty value to/from the limit duty value.
