The present invention relates to an androgen-containing fermentation product obtained by fermenting a sterol-containing natural substance using microorganisms, and to a method for preparing same. More particularly, the present invention provides an androgen-containing fermentation product obtained by inoculating a natural plant or animal product with microorganisms having the ability to decompose the side chain of the sterol, and culturing the microorganisms. The thus-obtained androgen-containing fermentation product of the present invention inhibits or treats health abnormalities caused by menopausal disorders or androgen deficiency in males. The androgen-containing fermentation product of the present invention has a valuable use in supplementary health foods or therapeutic agents for treating abnormalities caused by an androgen deficiency. |
