<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical component with thermo-optical effect capable of suppressing increase in insertion loss which is not intended. <P>SOLUTION: A metal thin film region 2 including a heater, an electrode pad and a wiring region connecting the heater to the electrode pad is formed at an upper part of an optical waveguide core 1. Since the metal thin film region 2 is formed so that it may be avoided that the electrode pad and the wiring region are disposed at a directly upper part of the optical waveguide core 1, an overlapping region between the optical waveguide 1 and the metal thin film 2 generated in a conventional two input two output type optical switch is not generated. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2011,JPO&INPIT</p> |
