<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device capable of using a probabilistic feedback to optimize a distribution of a multicast content about the content distribution, within a network environment. <P>SOLUTION: The method is provided for transmitting data from a server to a plurality of receiving terminals. The method includes the processes of transmitting the data from the server to the plurality of the receiving terminals and generating a random response value by each receiving terminal. The method, further, includes a processing of comparing the response value with acknowledged value by each receiving terminal, and to transmit an acknowledgment signal from the selected receiving terminal to the server.
