PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thermostat capable of accurately controlling temperature while stirring a sample in a reaction container having a spherical shape of the bottom face by a magnetic stirrer equipped with a hot plate. SOLUTION: The thermostat 10 is for temperature control of a sample solution in a reaction container by transmitting heat to the reaction container from a hot plate of a magnetic stirrer equipped with the hot plate while keeping the reaction container having a spherical shape of the bottom face, and the column-like thermostat body 13 in which a container housing part 12 having a spherical concave face corresponding to the bottom face shape of the reaction container is formed in the upper part is divided into a plurality of housing blocks 14 by the division face C along the vertical face passing the plane center point of the thermostat body and a pushing means for pushing the respective divided blocks to the direction of the plane center point is installed in the outer circumferential face of the thermostat body and also a mounting face which is to be set on the hot plate is formed in the lower part of the thermostat body.
