PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To increase the attaching strength of an armrest to more stably attach the armrest in a chair provided with the armrest. SOLUTION: In the chair, a backrest 7 includes: a pair of right and left back frames 23; a flexible back spread cloth 25 spread between both back frames 23, an upper cross beam 29 interposed between upper parts of both back frames 23 while forming a space with the back spread cloth 25, for applying tension to the back spread cloth 25 in the interposed state; and a lower cross beam 33 interposed between lower parts of both back frames 23 while forming a space with the back spread cloth 25, for applying tension to the back spread cloth 25 in the interposed state, and the arm column of the armrest 89 is supported by the backrest 7.
