PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method to prolong the life of ornamental plants and to improve their general vitality. SOLUTION: In a first aspect, a method of treating ornamental plants includes contacting the plants with a liquid composition comprising one or more cyclopropene compounds, wherein the concentration of the total of all of the one or more cyclopropene compounds is 0.3 to 300 mg of cyclopropene compounds per liter of the liquid composition.
