PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing mordenite by performing a specific treatment under the condition for synthesizing an aluminosilicate, MCM-68. SOLUTION: The mordenite is formed by properly fluidizing raw materials during crystallization in synthesizing the MCM-68. The method for manufacturing mordenite includes heating a mixture while fluidizing it in an autoclave, the mixture being composed of (1) a silica source, (2) a hydroxide or halide of N,N,N',N'-tetraalkylbicyclo[2.2.2]octo-7-ene-2,3:5,6-dipyrrolidinium (wherein, alkyl groups have 4 or less carbon atoms and may be the same or different), (3) a hydroxide of an alkali metal or a hydroxide of an alkaline-earth metal, and (4) water.
